Vine Burgers is a passion project by James Byus III that is almost three decades in the making. A career that has spanned nearly every facet of the food and beverage industry–front of house, back of house, sales, sourcing, premiere hospitality concierge, and more–has culminated in a restaurant concept that unites exceptional wine and hip cuisine with a modern aesthetic. His lifelong passion for making great food, pairing it with great wine, and giving people an upscale hospitality experience, has come to fruition in Vine Burgers.

 

James has worked in restaurants since he was 11 years old, and from that age onward, he developed a huge passion (and a considerable talent) for crafting an amazing culinary experience. This passion naturally led him into the world of wine as he got older, and saw him developing an exceptional palate for varietals from every region of the globe and marrying that knowledge to that which he gained in the kitchen.

 

James relocated from the East Coast to Sonoma County in the mid-2010s and set down roots, becoming heavily involved in the industry as well as meeting and marrying his bride, Maria. Her love and support have been crucial to his development as an entrepreneur, and he wouldn’t be where he is today without her.

 

It is here in Sonoma County, one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, that James has chosen to launch his passion project, and he views it as a conduit through which both locals and tourists can engage with the wine scene: learn about it, talk about it, and come to appreciate it and the beautiful area we live in.
